Louise Gambrill descends from a long line of fishermen and naval workmen. She now lives on a barge in Dublin City with her partner and Golden Retriever, Yogi. She won The 2016 Interaction Project Award with her collaborative piece about the harsh life at sea as a fisherman, Out with the Tide ( She exhibited two illustrations, The Space Inbetween, at the Sculpture in Context Exhibition in 2017. Her Illustrations document the wildlife she encountered during her voyage along the Grand Canal. Her current work addresses the gentrification of Dublin’s Docklands. You can see more of her work at
